Demon Archaeologist Achievement and Title

Ancient Advice is a quest in The Maze Engine Campaign. To receive this quest you must open the chest on a platform over the lava in Old Dragon's Lair (Chapter 4: Adventurers of the Lost Artifact).

Objective[edit | edit source]

  • Speak to Sage Bradda to Decipher the Ancient Cult of the Dragon Scroll

Summary[edit | edit source]

You search through the chest and find various odds and ends belonging the Dragon Empire. Nothing really of note, as most of it has been burnt or melted, but a scroll made out of an unknown paper has survived.

You try to read the scroll, but it is written in an unknown language.

Perhaps a sage learned in ancient artifacts may be able to decipher this scroll.

Steps[edit | edit source]

  • Speak to Sage Bradda to Decipher the Ancient Cult of the Dragon Scroll

Completion[edit | edit source]

Bradda the Sage
My, look at this scroll! This belongs in a museum in Baldur's Gate... but I'll happily take it for my shop.

Let's see... ah, yes, it's written in a combination of several languages and appears to be a... warning? Yes, a warning of some sort to fellow members of the Cult of the Dragon.

It speaks of Graz'zt, the demon Prince of Pleasure. Perhaps the Cult ran into him? It warns of his seductive manner and that he can turn the most devoted follower against their master, should he ever be allowed to walk the Material plane.

A fairly ominous message. Let us hope such a powerful demon prince is never allowed on this plane.
