Armor Reinforcement Kits are a feature introduced in Module 4: Tyranny of Dragons and Module 5: Rise of Tiamat, for Reinforcement kits and Reinforcement Jewels, respectively. Reinforcement Items can be applied to equipment in specific slots. Applying a new one to a piece of equipment overwrites a preexisting one. They cannot be removed or recovered once applied. They can be searched for in the Auction House in the Consumables category. Module 6: Elemental Evil introduced 'Major' versions of both. Each reinforcement kit has an associated item level, according to the tooltip on PC, Lessor kits give a 0 increase, Regular kits a +10 item level increase, Greater +20 item level increase and Major +35 item level increase for each kit applied.
