This item is used to complete the 'A Touch of Madness' task in the Underdark Campaign. Completion of this task allows for selection of the fifth Underdark Boon.

This hastily scrawled tome contains an account of the author's descent into madness along with a number of suggestions for retaining one's sanity. Given the state of the book, it's unclear whether any of these techniques were vindicated.
