Profession Slots[]

What does one need to unlock last slot (Complete a task and earn the Tier 3 result)? Why it is not sufficient to upgrade a craftman to a Rank 3?

Is there no one who knows the answer??? Is this broken (like so much else in the game)???
On a task with multiple potential results, get the tier 3 (best) quality result, as described here Profession#Tools. -- Two30 (talk) 11:21, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Tier vs. Rank[]

Why do all these profession pages call items "tier" instead of "rank"? According to the professions system, they are ranks. Seems like this is confusing for new players trying to figure out the profession system, and more than that it's not correct...Tier is a gear level from dungeons, Rank is a quality characteristic from professions. I suggest we change "tier" to "rank". Thoughts?

The profession pages were initially set up from some design docs I was permitted to see. They referred to multiple tiers of rewards, so tier here doesn't mean the item is tier 1; it means this is the item you get for a tier 1 outcome. At tier 2, you get more/better items, and so on. If the terminology has changed, then I fully support changing it, but again, "tier" refers to the outcome of the task, not the item themselves. The Profession page would also have to be updated, as the quality bonus is what alters your chance of getting a higher tier reward. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 21:24, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Repeating tasks[]

I'm not sure where to add this, but you can not put the same task into more then 3 slots. At least not 3 leadership ones, I can't check other at the moment. Light18 (talk) 18:32, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

It's true for certain task. IE, I can gather ore/pelt/cloth with all 9 slots but can only craft 3 of a specific shirt. Jetah (talk) 03:50, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

XP[]

Experience is cumulative, requiring a total of 153,600 points to reach Level 20.

Forumla for new craft time is: Base_Time/1+(Bonus_Speed)

The Reason For Crafting[]

The only benefit for crafting (outside of Leadership) is to craft Shirts and Pants.

Time to Level[]

Leadership will be the profession that is the longest to level (outside of using AD to power through). Jetah (talk) 03:50, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

Upgrading of Assets[]

The page states that:

NOTE: You can not upgrade from Common to Uncommon at the moment. Only through the ranks. i.e. Miner will never become a Platesmith

Does this mean that there are indications that in the future you can do this (since it says at the moment), or is this just pure speculation? I think it's bad if it stands there and gives peoples hope that if they just hold on for a bit, they can get their master blacksmith/ironsmith/whatever.

There are no indications that you can upgrade a common asset to an uncommon. The page just stated it is, currently, not possible to upgrade a common to uncommon. It's better to state it cannot then say nothing at all, imo. Jetah (talk) 18:36, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
I agree on that, it's the "at the moment" part I'm talking about. If there are no indications that this will change, I think it leads to confusion. Though that's only my opinion.

Images[]

I could get all the images for crafting assets if we'd use them instead of the text. After trying different parts of the Item template, I cannot get an image to have a popup like the text can have. I can, however, link the image to the correct page so you do not click and get the image. Images were reduced to 25px for this example. Jetah (talk) 03:22, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
