Acolyte of Histories
Located less than a day's ride from the city of Neverwinter, the fortress-monastery of Helm's Hold was founded in 1340 DR to serve as a bastion of safety for travelers along the high road. After the death of the city's patron god Helm, however, the city fell into decline and was nearly abandoned.Helm's Hold recently returned to prominence with the reconstruction of Neverwinter. At Lord Neverember's order the walls were repaired and it was garrisoned to protect trade along the high road. It later became the home to a sanatorium dedicated to the care and treatment for the Spellscarred, under a mysterious holy woman called "The Prophet".
Just as Helm's Hold was starting to rebuild, the Prophet was revealed to be a devil in disguise. Together with an army of cultists, she conquered the city, and seeks to turn it into an outpost of evil.
