There are 15 different kinds of traps currently ingame as of Patch: NW.1.20130416a.19
- They are categorized into 8 different types; Arrows, Arrow Bank, Floor Vent, Darts, Dart Bank, Spike, Blade, and Spear.
- Traps are triggered by both human players and monsters, so it is a common tactic especially by Trickster Rogues (who can see traps before they go off) to lure enemies into them.
- Arrows:
- Arrow Trap (Normal Arrows), Arrow Trap (Poison Arrow)
- Fires a single normal arrow at the player. One arrow slot, one trigger plate. Poison Arrow Trap applies a poison on the player, acting as a Damage over Time (DoT) for a short period.
- Arrow Banks:
- Arrow Bank (Normal Arrows), Arrow Bank (Poison Arrow)
- Fires multiple arrows, each aimed at a different point (Default is set in a line parallel to the traps facing position). Three arrow slots, one trigger plate. Maximum range is 60 feet. Poison Arrow Bank applies a poison on the player, acting as a Damage over Time (DoT) for a short period.
- Floor Vents:
- Vent Trap (Acid Fog), Vent Trap (Disease), Vent Trap (Poison Fog) and Vent Trap (Steam Cloud)
- All vent traps cause damage to players who step on it. The effect size is a radius of 6'x6'(feet), a little larger than the area of the trap itself.
- Acid fog slows you for a short period.
- Poison cloud adds a poison DoT on your character for a short period.
- Both Disease and Steam have no additional effects.
- Darts:
- Dart Trap (Normal), Dart Trap (Poison)
- A single dart slot combined with one trigger plate. Effective range is 60 feet. Poison Dart Trap applies a poison on the player, acting as a Damage over Time (DoT) for a short period.
- Dart Banks:
- Dart Trap Bank (Normal), Dart Trap Bank (Poison)
- Fires multiple darts, each aimed at a different point (Default is set in a line parallel to the traps facing position). Three dart slots, one trigger plate. Maximum range is 60 feet. Poison Dart Bank applies a poison on the player, acting as a Damage over Time (DoT) for a short period.
- Individual Traps
- Spike, Blade, and Spear.
- Spike
- This trap thrusts spikes up from the floor. The effect area is small, 4'x4'. This will stun the player for a short period.
- Blade
- A spinning blade that rises out of the slot. Damage area is 8'x1'x3'. It is the widest most damaging out of all traps.
- Spear
- Thrusts a spear at the player and then retracts and resets. Effective range is 6'.
