Neverwinter Wiki

Hey there OOeyes. I'm curious if you would be interested in merging this wiki with As it stands there are numerous wiki's in development by several people and I feel that it wold be much less counterproductive for the NW community if we only had one that focused specifically on the game. Some things to consider about merging: no ads on, we already have over 140 pages and keep adding new ones daily, and it's a dedicated domain hosted on a cloud network. Also, we have the ability to add new extensions with as little as an email to me. Current sysops with all other wiki's that merge into, will maintain their sysop status. Stop on over and hit me up on my talk page over on nwowiki and let me know what your thoughts are on merging.

AgueMort (talk) 22:57, 25 March 2013 (UTC)

I don't know about AgueMort but I'd like to take you up on your offer to admin over here. Also, I have almost 9,000 screenshots that I can also make available from beta weekend 2, 3, and 4 that should be pretty much the same information(lore, quests and others) as what will be in the open beta release, but which I will verify as it is added to the wiki. Shaudius (talk) 22:46, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Welcome to the wiki, Shaudius, and you're now an admin here. Of course, with great power comes great responsibility, yadda yadda. I look forward to working with you, and congratulations! oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 23:39, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Professions Navbox[]

Thanks for adjusting it to the proper style. I didn't know the ones in use already and felt some navigation help was needed for professions to attract edits and facilitate reading, so I copied one I made on a different wiki a while ago. Glad to see my idea fits in with a bit of formatting ;) FridiEU (talk) 00:08, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I always hate ending deleting someone's work, especially when I know they just missed the existing templates, but the pages were indeed needing a navbox. So do some others, but I just have a large backlog to get through. Going to try to get the rest of the beta tooltip system in place tonight. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 00:12, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Contest confusion and main page offer.[]

Hi, I have been trying to understand the contest rules. I have been activly going through each page possible, Starting from the mounts, updating the information, readability and consistancy with alot of otherwise incomplete information. I have been updating each icon as I can while creating the Wondrous Bazaar pag to 1080p standard icons.

Theses however have all left me with questions reguarding the contest. Are icons counted as images, or must they be full screenshots? How are submissions counted? The first to make a page? or the one who makes subtle edits? Also reguarding the front page I would like to offer my help. I am a graphic designer/Games designer and more than happy to submit some work. However the main page does not allow edits. This also brings me to the point we need a consumables option in the Economy section to better allow linking of tooltips from icons in shop listings.

I am new to this whole wiki editing system but finding a love for it knowing people will find it helpful in the future. In truth I am really hoping to win a founders pack but the ability for someone to make a sublte edit and claim a page somehwat worries me with the submission procress. Does this also mean I have to link every single page i do over twitter?

So many questions >.<

Re: images, anything that's helpful applies, including icons.
As for the main page, I'll add clarification here and some instructions if you want to make a test version for yourself. Basically, we have two unfortunate obstacles to easy community contribution to the main page:
  1. With it being the most heavily visited page on the wiki, editing just has to be restricted because it's one of the few pages where it's not acceptable to deal with various bad faith or misguided edits after they happen. This includes vandalism, edit warring, adjustments that make it look batter on large monitors and useless on small ones and mobile devices, etc. That's why we stick to having users make suggestions or make and edit copies instead. Then admins will put the good faith edits, seeking community input on any edits that may be controversial.
  2. A really difficult problem here is new security features recently added to the software. Normally, you'd be able to just make a copy and test your images just by adding them in a style attribute to each box, but the MediaWiki software now strips this out when sending it to the browser to protect them from potentially malicious images. There is a way you can make a copy of the main page and test how it looks for yourself, but only you will see the images. If you want others to see it too, there's no choice but for me to set it up, so don't be afraid to request it. I'll be adding the instructions to set up your own test main page on the contest talk page shortly. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 17:41, 17 May 2013 (UTC)

Add Enchanting to Gameplay Mainpage[]

Hi there. I started the Enchanting page and have steadily built upon it into something useful. However, I need to get eyes on it from highlevel players that maybe will contribute their knowledge. Please consider adding it to the mainpage Gameplay. You have Invocation there so why not the much bigger area of Enchanting? ;) Its a stub but its a big fat stub ATM that can only grow better.

Issue with Image[]

Hello Mr. Eyes! I tried reverting this file: File:Nopic.jpg It had been used as a placeholder, and someone tried updating the icon of one page where it was used, but in the end uploaded a new version of the placeholder instead of just changing it on one page (can't see in Recent Changes where it was meant to go). I tried reverting it back to the old placeholder, but it gave me the new file again. Any ideas? FridiEU (talk) 19:43, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

Hmm, I was able to revert it successfully, so I'm not sure what happened here. If you run into this again, let me know and I'll ask our tech team to investigate further. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 19:51, 18 May 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for work on control wizard powers[]

I wasn't sure how I was going to fix the tooltips having the edit link when hovering over the power's link. some of the power links didn't even have a tooltip when hovered over. I don't understand what this 1 variable does though. some benevolent magic. if you could explain it to me I'd appreciate it. I'm not that good at mediawiki code. User talk:SteveMario 2013 05 20 AM 4:37 (PDT)

I don't know about that. Managing to get that transformer system as far as you did in a complex situation like that took some skill.
In this case, the 1 parameter is identifying what template needs to be called to format the information. The tooltip pages themselves are being used as templates, and they're passing their contents to whatever template is getting passed to 1. Notice that in {{ {{{1|Tooltip page box}}}, the 1 parameter is right where the template name usually goes. {{Tooltip page box}} is used as the default because it designed to be used right in page content and makes it easier for users. The tooltip script that handles the hover tooltips, though, needs tooltips to be formatted with {{Tooltip hover box}}, and, using Teleport as an exmaple, the script literally is sending {{:Teleport|Template:Tooltip hover box}} to the wiki for processing. The oversight is that the tooltip pages were no longer doing anything with the parameter value and just quietly discarding it because it wasn't used. You also introduced a chain of templates that the data was being passed through, and we had to make sure that 1 parameter value was being passed through each one so it could get to {{TooltipPower}}, where it was finally used.
It also helps to know that {{foo|1=bar|2=baz}} is the same as {{foo|bar|baz}}. If you don't specify the parameter name, MediaWiki automatically uses numbers counting up from 1. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 17:53, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I got the 1= omission from looking at other templates where they don't use variable names. Can we come up with a name for our "1" variable? What I thought it was before was a template override, ie., it would use Template A unless you gave it a Template B to use. User talk:SteveMario 2013 05 20 PM 6:39 (PDT)
With number of places it would now need to be changed, including in a script that gets cached in users' browsers, I'd rather not rename it now. It'd break the system until everyone's browsers recached. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 02:49, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Bulk Image Upload[]

Going through the game files, I have access to over 10k (21k if i can manage to convert them all but i know some won't) images I could upload. but i kind of refuse to do it one.. at.. a.. time.. Any help?

next problem would be naming convention and category listing. what ya think? Jetah (talk) 17:57, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Nothing comes to mind as far as bulk uploads right now. As for naming convention, STOWiki has successfully used File:[item name] icon.png as a consistent format for icons. I tried to keep other files using similar formats... just [item name].jpg for a screenshot of the item when equipped, [location name].jpg for a screenshot of a location. [location name] map.jpg for maps of an zone, [quest name] map.jpg for the quest maps. When there have been two maps, I've typically just added a number like [quest name] map 2.jpg.
I created the Courtesan's Wear pages and related articles largely to have an example in place of how to handle fashion and armor sets, and that has some naming conventions for images there as well. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 20:30, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
And that would mean I'd have to rename all images before uploading :(. not really something I want to do even with a program helping with the renames. I guess the problem with the names are that some icons aren't being used right now and some icons are being used multiple times. ie Chisel has the same icon from worn through mithral. Jetah Astral Diamond small icon.png 21:29, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Well, the work really isn't truly avoidable. It's a matter of who ends up doing it.
  • If images just get uploaded with whatever name is most convenient or what it's already named, the editors expecting to use those images have the extra work of trying to find them without any consistent conventions to help them out.
  • If we enforce naming conventions, editors uploading images and admins have to be vigilant to make sure files are named properly, but then templates can be designed to take advantages, making things like creating a version of {{item}} that displays an icon much easier because the icon name won't have to be supplied as a parameter; the template can figure it out from the item name. This work then goes on the uploader and admins.
  • Using redirects, or moving files after upload, is a middle ground option. Images could be uploaded to whatever's most convenient, but then either moved to the proper name, or a redirect at the proper name created later. This approach would let us move to consistent naming conventions gradually rather than have to do it all at once.
As far as bulk uploads go, I'll talk to some people at the office on this ASAP. We've done this kind of thing internally with data dumps before. I'll see what they suggest doing. Most likely, this will end up requiring a gradual approach to consistent conventions. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 22:05, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
-Just saw the bullet post. With the gallery editors can see which image they need. they can copy/paste the URL of that image into the page. One problem is that there are a very limited number of icons and at least 20+ item names that use said icons. I know that it would be easier to keep the names as they are in the game files as it it would easier to see what was added with a patch. I'm taking out names suchs as Inventory_xxxxx, etc. Jetah Astral Diamond small icon.png 22:21, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
Next set of images I'm working on is Armor, Weapons and Off-hands. This'll includes roughly 800 images.
I noticed we do not have a page for Items such as armor, weapon, etc. I might create one just so I can create a /Gallery like I did for the Enchanting/Gallery. Unless you have a better idea on how to display images/icons for these categories. Jetah Astral Diamond small icon.png 23:11, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

There's been some vandalism on the Trickster Rogue page: (Sorry, I don't have the time to fix this myself right now) FridiEU (talk) 23:02, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. It's cleaned up now. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 23:09, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Pages With Unexpected ItemTransformer Tooltip Behavior[]

Put here per your request on the Community Portal

  • Tricorn Captain's Hat - The type in the info box shows Fashion Hat from type= and type2=, but tooltip doesn't.
  • Panther - Power listing in info box does not show the contents of power3=, but the tooltip does.

Serpinecoh (talk), 20:01, 8 July 2013 (PT)

Thank you. The tooltip is fixed.
As I explain in [[Project talk:Community discussion:Usage of ItemTransformer|community discussion]][1], I realized that the longer infoboxes are just displayed a lot of information twice since we're showing the tooltips anyway. I decided it'd be best to trim it down to reduce the amount of information being shown twice. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 06:20, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Sometimes you need edit and save a tooltip to refresh and you cut {Infobox item} like me wanting to do it and got banned for this :))

To improve the performance of infobox you should replace tables to something else
Baned user 11:31 09-07-2013

Here are a few more
* Cloak of Lesser Etherealness - What type= should this be so that the use= and recharge= appears on the wiki tooltip? Consumable seems to be the only type that shows those now, but this item can be used repeatedly and doesn't display a type at all in the in-game tooltip.
* Robes of Useless Items - This is in the same boat as the cloak (needs to display use= and recharge= but is not consumable, doesn't display a type in the in-game tooltip). It has an extra oddity in that it can be put in an armor slot, but doesn't have any tooltip armor behavior, so it can probably follow the same solution.
* Boots of the Fire Giant - These are armor boots that don't actually require a class. In-game, the tooltip doesn't have a "Required Class: " line present, but does have the description displayed unlike most armors.
Serpinecoh, 02:57, 11 July 2013 (PT)
Okay, these are fixed up now. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 06:48, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
* One other area of trouble I've encountered is the positioning of tooltips when image1= when put in. As an example I tried earlier to move the screenshot somebody added to the Lliira's Night Dye Pack to the tooltip image1=. But what ended up happening was the top of the tooltip started at the bottom of the image, creating a big empty zone. - Serpinecoh
This is some kind of strange Chrome-only issue from what I can see. I made a CSS change that seems to have fixed it, though it's not at clear why that was necessary. Funny, as Chrome is usually a well-behaved browser. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 02:32, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
I was actually experiencing the issue under explorer. :) Its fixed now though, so thank you very much!
Regarding Boots of the Fire Giant again, as I mentioned they actually display the verbal item description on the tooltip in game, which is unlike most other armors I'm aware of. Is that possible or would it be to problematic to the templates being shared with other "normal" armors? (I seem to be really drawn to items that basically break from the norm). - Serpinecoh
Sorry for the long delay. I've been sick, busy on another project, and this just slipped my mind. Do I have the description in the right place, or is it located somewhere else in this tooltip? oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 20:45, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
Yes it looks great now. - Serpinecoh

Sorry eyes. Not sure if you wanted me to respond here or on my own talk page. Snoman321 (talk) 15:56, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

Hello Eyes

could you have a look at those 2 pages and IP's?

Looks like ad spam to me...

FridiEU (talk) 16:59, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Handling of non-English Pages[]

Regarding the newly added page Händler des Handelszentrums which only has the words "Zen-markt" on it (chrome translates the name as "Dealer trade center" and the text as "Zen market" respectively). Admin wise, what is the procedure for such a page (there is already a Zen Market page on the German wiki that has more information for instance)? What if it had more data? Basically I'm not sure if their is a correct approach for non-English pages in general if they don't have a country marker like /fr?

It should just be removed then. Might be worth posting a message on the editor's talk page too to point them to the German wiki. All non-English pages should have the language suffix and have an appropriate category like Translations/pl . If someone adds them without doing this and it isn't redundant like in this case, I recommend generally fixing it and telling the editor. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 22:58, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Unattributed Image[]

The only part of the Category:Administration I haven't cleaned up is one calledCategory:Unattributed_images. There is a pair of images in that that appear to be from Neverwinter. Now they are big, not particularly informative (looks to be vanity shots), and not linked by anything so I figure on deleting them. But first I wanted to ask how they ended up marked for appearance on the "Unattributed page" as opposed to the heap of icons and screenshots otherwise uploaded: Were they flagged for review by somebody? As a more general question, if an image has "None selected" for license is it pretty much just assumed one of the "Neverwinter Images" fair use licenses or do the various icons / screenshots need some sort of pass to set them to that? - Serpinecoh (talk) 23:39, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

The licenses dropdown is unfortunately a bit crude in MediaWiki. They would come from the user selecting "I don't know the license", which adds {{Unattributed image}} to the page instead of one of the other licenses, so generally this means the uploader themselves selected that. Ideally, the license dropdown would add {{Unattributed image}} to any image that another license isn't selected for, but that's not how it works. So any images in unattributed images are likely from people who were confused and didn't understand the options.
In general, if they appear to be Neverwinter screenshots, you can just change {{Unattributed image}} to {{Neverwinter screenshot}}, {{Neverwinter official image}}, or {{Edited Neverwinter screenshot}} (or any of the other Category:License templates, but those three cover 99% of images we get) as appropriate. That said, cleaning it up isn't really high priority unless you're seeing some obvious copyright violation. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 00:02, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Spam on a Personal Talk Page[]

What are the rules regarding a person posting an advertisement on their personal User Page or the Discussion page for their user page? I'm specifically asking do to User_talk:Xiaoxiao1111. My knee-jerk was to delete it as spam, but since it is a user page and not a main wiki page I wanted to be sure about the correct standards before acting. Sorry for bugging you with these questions. :) - Serpinecoh (talk) 05:21, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

It's okay to ask. At any rate, my general rule of thumb is pretty simple: if it looks like spam and has nothing to do with the game, the wiki, or the user him or herself, then it's spam and can be safely cleaned up. That example is definitely spam. You are right, though, in that wikis are otherwise generally lax on user page content. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 07:00, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Verifying email address[]

I keep trying to get my email verified on the wiki site so I can get edit notifications but never receive an email with the verification code to do so. I've checked my spam filters and settings. Is this not working, and if it is working, who do I need to contact for help troubleshooting it? - Serpinecoh (talk) 18:20, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

I know I've had trouble in the past with certain email providers never receiving the email. I had no trouble with a gmail account. If you let me know what provider you're having trouble, I can pass it up. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 21:05, 4 September 2013 (UTC) - Serpinecoh (talk) 22:55, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

RSS feeds no longer whitelisted after wiki update[]

Hello! It seems that the non-English RSS feeds are no longer whitelisted, could you get them queued again? Thanks! FridiEU (talk) 19:47, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

It's now whitelisted. We are now using a new RSS extension, though, and it is now possible to whitelist RSS feeds by adding them to MediaWiki:Rss Whitelist on the appropriate wiki. More information can be found at Extension:RSSPie. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 21:17, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

RU Translation[]

Hello! I begin translating pages and need some additional guides about this. Should I create links on pages in my language, or use link/ru instead? Kantorovich (talk) 04:32, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

For now, you should use link/ru and make sure to add everything to Category:RU translations. If and when we launch a Russian Neverwinter Wiki, you'd move the pages to their Russian names after all the Russian pages are copied there. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 15:25, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
Actually, reconsidering, I'll leave it up to you how you want to handle the linking. If you use the Russian names for now, the links will be red, but you won't have to change them later. Or you can link to the existing pages and wait until a Russian wiki launch to change them. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 17:43, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello again! How many pages we had to translate to be able to set up own domain?

It's less about a number of pages and more about seeing that we have one or more dedicated people to work on a foreign language wiki before we launch it. That's why we ask to have some pages translated on the English wiki first. We're just trying to avoid launching a wiki that's going to be abandoned in a few months. Are you willing to serve as an administrator if we open a Russian wiki, or do you know someone who is?
Also, we're not going to launch a Russian wiki while Category:RU translations is still empty. Remember, we need [[Category:RU translations]] added to the translated pages so we can easily copy them to the new domain when the time comes. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 21:42, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi! I was in vacations, this is why there were no edits. I belive I could handle russian cluster as admin, while no one from Perfectworld russian partners will not to supervise this work. Kantorovich (talk) 19:58, 26 January 2014 (UTC)

Minor bug with talk-page signatures and the new User pages[]

If I sign a discussion page, a "User:Two30&action=edit&redlink=1" link is created. User:Two30 isn't a proper target for editing anymore. So this should either be "UserWiki:Two30&action=edit&redlink=1" or simply "User:Two30". -- Two30 (talk) 13:28, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

User_talk:Two30 also has a link to "User:Two30&action=edit&redlink=1" at the top of the page. -- 13:31, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
I've checked, and the dev team is already aware of this issue. I don't have an ETA on the fix at this time, but I do know it's in the pipeline. I believe creating a userpage at UserWiki:Two30 would serve as a workaround if you don't want to wait for the fix. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 21:25, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Active Administrators[]

Hello OOeyes, I have noticed over the last nine months, Two30 has taken a powder and left IshtarNW in charge of this ship. I don't know if or when you do elections, but I think it is about time to make IshtarNW in as the head admin and find someone to fill Two30's shoes. I only suspect Two30 lost interest in the game, with many others, as his sudden disappearance occurs with the infamous module 6 release. I realize there could be numerous other reasons, but that one comes to mind at the top of my list. I was cruising by the community portal and noticed his name is second under Two30. I would at least move his name to inactive status but I am not the admin or liaison. I have no desire to be an admin myself, as I just come here to assist filling in the holes. Meanwhile I wouldn't like to think a new person should attempt to contact an active admin and send a message to one that left almost a year ago. Wendy Black 04:37, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

I would suggest Sarafyne as a new admin. They are quite active! (more active in editing than me these days, because I'm busy with patrolling new edits) - IshtarNW (talk) 08:18, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Spam Filter[]

Hey oOeyes, would you maybe be able to take a look at the spam filter again? It seems a lot of spam is getting through, I've been deleting several spam posts a day at the moment. I researched it a bit, but I don't think any new rules I create would be effective. Alternatively, we could add a captcha for the first time a user posts or edits? katamaster818 (talk)

I've added an experimental new filter to try out. I doubt it's likely to hit desirable edits by new users, so should be safe enough, and hopefully it'll catch this new pattern of spam. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 20:13, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
Thanks a ton, especially for doing it on a weekend! -katamaster818 (talk) 20:46, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

Promoting Hawchang[]

Sorry to bother you yet again, but I'd like to promote Hawchang to admin so that he has rights to delete files and pages, etc. He's the number one contributor on this wiki, so I think that he's more than suitable. I don't have privileges for that, so I was wondering if you could do it? Thanks a ton. Also, just to let you know, I contacted a developer in game, and they're going to look into sponsoring another wiki editing contest. Nothing's confirmed yet, but it's being looked into.

Also unrelated, but is the insane amount of bots creating user accounts a problem? They don't seem to be doing anything with them, but they've created a LOT of accounts.-katamaster818 (talk) 17:24, 26 February 2017 (EST)

Since I see you did ask him, I went ahead and promoted him. As for the bots, it's not uncommon on our older wikis, but as long as spam getting through is at a minimum, it's not an issue other than being a distraction on recent changes. (Also, since those are creating Curse accounts, that ends up getting bumped up to dev if it does become a problem.) oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 09:40, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for promote. I will work on the role. - Hawchang (talk) 11:04, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Bug with Image and Reversion[]

I see that this has been mentioned before on your talk page, but it seems to be happening again (to me at least). I uploaded an image earlier today, Pcflair.png . After trying it out, I realized that it would look better with a white border, so I added one with my image editor, and tried reuploading the picture. No matter how many times I replace the image, revert, or do anything, it always changes back to the first image I uploaded? Am I doing something wrong? or is it a bug? - katamaster818 (talk) 19:46, 28 February 2017 (EST)

We unfortunately have long-standing issues with a slow-updating image cache. As long as the filename doesn't change, the cached version can linger for quite some time. Sadly, at present, it's either necessary to wait it out or move the file to force an immediate update. (The cache in question works independently of the actual wiki software. The changes have happened, but the cache often takes a long time to catch up.) oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 01:29, 1 March 2017 (UTC)

I want to use "insource:" keyword on CirrusSearch[]

I want to fix previous code on Tooltip pages. But, it can not be found by normal search. I tried "insource:" keyword, it display messages below. Is not "insource" usable?

Apologies for the delay on responding. I've submitted a ticket to our dev team to look into this. I'll provide an update when I hear anything back. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 11:08, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
I confirmed that I can use "insource" keyword on CirrusSearch after upgraded to 1.29. Thanks!! -Hawchang (talk) 04:05, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

Wouldnt save my page[]

I went to save my pg for my PS4 Neverwinter guild and it said it was deemed a harmful action n wouldnt do it any clue. Sufferingthrone (talk) 14:01, 16 September 2017 (UTC)

There are a number of restrictions on new users adding external links since that's usually done by spammers. First, try saving the page without the links; you may be able to add them on the second edit. If not, you'll need to make a few more edits without links so that the filters won't treat you as a new user any longer. Also, Guild page titles should begin with "Guild:", please. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 16:11, 16 September 2017 (UTC)

Please rollback protection[]

I changed page protection of File:Neverwinter-Vector-Element-Bottom-Background.jpg from sysop to administrators. I tried to rollback, it could not. - Hawchang (talk) 01:51, 3 March 2018 (UTC)

My misunderstanding. It seems that I could not change it. - Hawchang (talk) 02:02, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
"Sysop" is just another name for the administrator group, so it's exactly the same level of protection. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 08:22, 3 March 2018 (UTC)

About the handling of spam or beginner's mistake[]

I would like to consult. An anonymous user created article Profile information and the content was only a link to an external profile site. While i think no problem to include such links in personal profile, I am concerned that the above article names may give the impression that is recommended on this wiki. How should I handle the above article? (I use Google Translate. Sorry for the poor English.) -Hawchang (talk) 02:27, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

This particular case does not look like a profile at all, but just a link to a blog. That's just traditional spam and simply deleting it seems appropriate. If you do encounter something that seems to be more a beginner putting personal links in mainspace articles, I usually just move it to their userspace (if they're registered) and explain why in a message. If they're anonymous, I'd delete it and leave a message. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 03:22, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
